This curve-friendly sewing pattern comes with cup sizes C-H and multiple bodice, skirt, sleeve, and neckline options to make over 400 possible knit dresses, skirts, and tops. Sew a casual skater dress, a trendy asymmetrical skirt, a glamorous gown, an elevated tee, a retro frock, and so much more. You can craft a unique look every time you sew the Grafton!

Important Printing Note: there are so many options and printing combos possible for this pattern that we can't put them all on this page! So please select your size range, and include a note about which style(s) and cup size(s) you'd like.   • Bodice: Relaxed with dropped shoulders, fitted. Can be made as a dress or top
  • Bodice lining: With, without
  • Neckline: V neck with band or lining, crew neck with band or lining, scoop neck with band or lining, turtleneck with band, square neck with lining
  • Sleeves, relaxed fit bodice: Drop sleeves, long sleeves
  • Sleeves, fitted bodice: Straight sleeves in short, mid, and long, bishop sleeves, sleeveless with armhole facing or lining
  • Dress waistband: With, without
  • Skirt: A-line skirt in knee or maxi length, straight skirt in short, knee, or midi length with optional side slits, asymmetrical draped skirt, circle skirt
  • Pockets: Inseam pockets (A-line skirt), slash pockets (straight or asymmetrical skirt)

Sewing level: Beginner; advanced beginner (asymmetrical skirt, lined sleeveless bodice)

Materials and Supplies

  • Interfacing: Lightweight stretch interfacing for turtle neckband (optional)
  • Elastic: 1.5 yd (1.4 m) of 1" (2.5 cm) wide elastic for elasticated waistband; Clear elastic for shoulder seams (¾ yds/0.7 m), slash pocket openings (⅜ yd/0.3 m), and/or waist seam (1 yd/0.9 m) (all optional)
  • Needles & thread: Ballpoint or stretch needle; Thread; Twin needle (optional for hem)
  • Additional notions: Fusible hem tape, maximum 6 yds (5.5 m) (optional)
  • Tools: Tailor's chalk or washable marker; Tailor’s ham or rolled up towel

Recommended Fabrics

  • Main fabric: Light- to mid-weight knit (such as jersey, ITY, Liverpool knit, double knit, or ponte) with at least 25% horizontal and vertical stretch. There are two exceptions: Relaxed bodice: 25% horizontal, 10% vertical; A-line maxi: 0-10% vertical stretch is ideal.
  • Lining: Same fabric or lighter weight knit with same stretch for lining (square neckline required, optional for others)
